Current Projects
Started on a 1967 Camaro for GKR Member Chaz, the entire drivetrain will be removed.  It was purchased with a 350 SBC engine, Saginaw 4-speed
transmission and a 10 Bolt differential.

We will begin by replacing the stock 10 Bolt.
10 Bolt differential w/ positraction.
It also had old air shocks and a slapper
bar type suspension - all will be trashed.
With the full crew there to help us, the
differential came out in about 15 minutes.
Before discarding, we need to take
some measurements to transfer to the
new differential.
The new differential will be a Chrysler
Dana 60.  We were very fortunate to
find one that is already the same length as
Camaro.
The stock leaf spring perches looked
horrible, so they will be replaced.
We didn't want to cut into the housing tubes with the plasma, so we used a
cut-off wheel instead and ground the rest of the weld.
The D60 has a PowerLock carrier and
4.10 gears.
After all the grinding was done, the
entire housing was cleaned.
A new set of spring perches were
supplied by Ron's Performance.
A simple jig was set up to locate the
proper perch position.
The pinion angle from the old differential
was 6 degrees, so we will make it the
same - for now.
The pinion angle was set and now
the new perch can be leveled.
Chaz welds up the new perches.
All done.  It looks a lot better than the
original.
